At
9 am, 27th August 2008 , the doors to make cancer never opens.
It would be a centre that would provide quality care even to
the poorest of poor. A dream of 15 years and will become a reality
that day. We from the trust invite you to join on this significant
moment of time.
Mrs.
Vasantha sacrificed her life to turn our attention to a cause
that needed an immense amount of emancipation. 3 years since
she left her mortal coil came into existence another body, a
trust , named after her , with an aim to bring about care &
cure to cancer affected. Starting with basic minimum fund of
Rs. 2500, it gathered funds many times that and touched the
lives of 312 patients. The task of taking up this cause started
with 3 members of her family and today it has hundreds of volunteers
from different cities.. People at large encouraged our efforts
and funded them generously. All this gave us the confidence
to build a centre, though small, to provide comprehensive care
for cancer.
The
Centre will function right from the day of inauguration. Consultation
will be from the 2 consulting rooms in the ground floor. Counseling
cell and rehabilitation assistance will be from the rooms upstairs.
At the minor operation theatre procedures like bone marrow biopsy
, lumbar puncture , FNAC and small biopsies can be done. The
Day care ward will have 4 beds where chemotherapy will be administered.
The charges will be highly discounted.
The
trust solicits volunteers – medical, paramedical, technical,
administrative, and managerial –
to run this centre. Mind , body & soul is needed to make
Vasantha Memorial Cancer Centre a success. Together let us make
