Unni – The music Czar This brilliant musician with a rich expressive voice was initiated at the age of 12 by his mother and later tutored by none other than Dr. S. Ramanathan. He continued training with Mrs. Savithri Sathyamurthy,Calcutta Krishnamoorthy & Mr.P.S.Narayanswamy.The excellent tutelage combined with a charming voice which modulates easily & deep involved singing pulled people out of their home to Sabhas and got them glued to the seats till the musical spell was over. The Film world was not spared either. A.R.Rahman was the first one & he Sang "Ennavalle" in the film Kadalan and stole the Best Playback Singer Award for his very first film Song Then on it is the Story of Alexander the great ,but the difference was that Unni really conquered .Enthralled listeners were found world over !!. He is also an A grade of AIR and has several CDs & cassettes to his credit.He was bestowed with several awards & titles which included Isai Peroli by Karthik Fine Arts, Kalaimamani by Tamil Nadu Government .The Trust honoured with him a title Udhavum Oli– Voice for Help – in 1999 in appreciation of his service & is also an Advisor & patron to the trust. This Pied piper started his career with 3 prong interests of Commerce , Cricket & Carnatic music and to the fortune of millions music took the upper hand.
