He did his MD in General medicine from Mumbai & trained subsequently in Hematology at CMC, Vellore. Since 1995, he is a consultant in Hematology & Oncology at the Kovai Medical Centre & Hospital, Coimbatore.

He is also founder of the Hemophilia Society Coimbatore & Trichy chapters & member of the COPES Working Committee of the International Union Against Cancer (UICC).
