Volunteerism - the force that runs the Trust

“Volunteer ” by definition means the one who serves or acts of his / her own will. A true volunteer expects nothing return out of this activity . The trust is proud that it has a large number of them. It is but natural to be clouded by queries before committing to an organization. Certain questions like :

  • Why work for cancer why not something more pleasurable ?
  • Is the organization genuine ?
  • Do they really work ?
  • Are the Trustees reliable ?
  • I don’t like the face of the Incharge ?
  • Can my time be better used ?
  • What benefits do I get ?
  • Will it be a financial burden ?

When the cause of cancer takes priority & it is found that it is a real working organization , all the other factors seem insignificant. The Skeptics , psuedos & for whom the other factors seemed significant automatically disappeared. This is evident in the composition of the volunteers of the Trust & the range of activities they perform. The trust has reached this far purely due to the propulsive power put up by the volunteers.
